New Year Resolutions

It’s a new year here on The Meek Chic and in order for this to work I reasoned that I needed to make some changes on the blog, and in order to do this I should recall the reasons why I started the blog in the first place.
As depicted on the tagline I wanted to write about Faith, Family and Fashion, or so I thought.
* Faith: I find myself very shy at times, especially when it comes to talking or correcting people,  but the deen isn’t a matter that can be avoided and so I decided to use this platform to reignite the flames of Iman in my little way.

Family: I’m a family first kind of person, and so yes it is something to write about.

Fashion: well, fashion isn’t really something I want to write about anymore, as a matter of fact I don’t think that it ever was something I could have written about. I know you are thinking “why then did you put it in your tag line” well it’s like this, I’m into fashion, I like to know what’s trending, I even make my own clothes and they are super cool, but I’m also a muslimah, I don’t wear flashy colors, or fitted clothes – I fear I may not look to fashionable – and as much as I like trendies, there’s only so much I can wear in public, now that’s just me. I could make posts for others who wear them despite being muslimahs and others, but there’s this fear, that someone who’s already-well how should I put it- more rightly guided will see my post and think “I know this girl, “she’s a good person”, if she’s wearing or posting stuffs like this then its probably okay”. And I couldn’t live with that. I know, I know, I’m being a little unreasonable, muslimahs know what to and what not to wear, but am I really? I mean how many people really know what they are supposed to? Aren’t judgements made based on what we are exposed to? Whatever, right or wrong, I don’t care, I can’t take the chance, so that’s a no no to fashion.
I liked my tag line better with 3 F’s, so I sure found a suitable replacement for fashion and it is… wait for it.. wait for it.. it is “Fiction”. Da da da da da da………………… okay okay, let’s not get too excited about that, I’ve found that I enjoy writing and my friend did say that I might be good at it, but if I suck at it half as much as I suck at blogging then I think you know what to expect, but I guess we’ll never find out until I try.

Game Plan
Here’s how I intend to run the blog here on – so help me God:
* 5/7: Come what may,  I’ll try my best to write at least 5 days a week, yes that’s 5 posts per week. You can expect something on Faith, Family, and – if I ever finish writing one- a Story.

*Daily Prompts: on days when I can’t think of what to write or when I just find the word too good to miss, I’ll respond to daily prompt.

*Consistency: I’ll try to keep up my already scheduled weekly posts –Revive a Sunnah and Book Review
– and introduce new ones – I already have one in mind

*Personalise: I’ll try to stop myself from rating any post too personal or ‘not good enough’ if it’s good enough to be written then it’s good enough to be read.

That’s my four point agenda for the meek chic for this year – in sha Allah – they look simple enough right?
Anyway, thanks keeping up with me, I hope to make it worth your while. Let’s have a great year ahead.

Peace be with you!!!…
