The best day of the week

Thank God it’s Friday
Different people like Friday for different reasons, the most popular of which is the fact that Friday marks the end of the week, end of work and beginning of fun. Well I like Friday too (oh! I meant love), for all of the popular reasons and more….

This is probably obvious but I’m still going to write it, I love Friday because it’s the day of jumat, I love dressing up for the occasion, going to the mosque early, getting to read surah Al-Kafh, seeing everyone leave what they’re doing to go the mosque, seeing mosques filled to their capacity and beyond, it feels just like Eid and I love that feeling (I mean who doesn’t?)

Shortest day of the week
I’m not particularly sure how it happens, but Fridays seem to come to a close much faster than other days, it probably has something to do with the jumat service, especially because before you’ve settled back to work after the prayer – it’s time for Asr, after that the day is just what it is – over – and I love it.

Short special moment
There’s a moment on Friday – although short but very special – when all prayers are answered, so this makes Fridays really special.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said while talking about the merits of Friday, “There is a time on Friday at which a Muslim, while he (or she) is performing Salat and is supplicating, will be granted whatever he (or she) is supplicating for.” And he (PBUH) pointed with his hand to indicate that this period of time is very short.

Best day of the week
I think that Friday is the best day of the week but if you don’t agree with me, this should change your mind…

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. On that day Adam was created, he was admitted to Jannah, and he was expelled there from.”

Aus bin Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Among the best of your days is Friday. On that day pray to Allah to exalt my mention frequently, for your such supplications are presented to me.”
[Abu Dawud]

I hope you guys are having as splendid a day as I am, if you haven’t done so already it is not too late to read surah Al-Kafh, make a lot of duaa, say ‘as-salatu alan-nabi’  (lots of it) and enjoy your day – that is what’s left of it.

Peace be with you…..
